There are a lot of things to “shake off” today, but I am glad there is today and what a beautiful day it is with the knowledge of the phenomenal people I have in my life.

Lazy Jane’s. Always good for almond coffee and nostalgia.
St. Vinny’s. Never fails to carry an extensive book collection and humorous vinyl record covers.
Madison Arboretum. The place for amateur photographers, like myself, and huggable trees.
Whole Foods. Umm, obviously just the spot for wholesomeness and awesome delicacies, and loafing.
Poolside. For sharing life and dipping toes.
Friendship. Where one’s heart can be at peace in the presence of another. For life.
Twas a lovely day with the beautiful Kristen Petranek :)

My mother….she’s a superb lassie :) While the boys of the Christensen household enjoyed the Brewer’s game, Mumsie and I had an evening of our own. Ladies night! We perused town a bit, went for a walk (which turned into short spurts of running, as my mother has taken a liking to trying it), visited our neighbors and their new baby girl, Virginia, made ourselves a fine dinner of spaghetti squash and wine (where she exclaimed, “I feel so old and sophisticated!” Oh, mom), and watched a good old chick flick with some shortbread cookies at hand. I thoroughly enjoy spending every moment I can with my mother, she is quite the gem, and I love her dearly. Huzzah to family!

Summertime (“and the wind is blowing outside”) is by far the best book-reading season. I look forward to each summer with a to-read list in hand and dreams of fulfilling each day with some amount of reading, preferably basking in the sun’s jubilant rays!
This is the time of year where it is completely okay to read a whole book in one day, splurge on books that just can’t wait to be read, and stay up until the wee hours of the night finishing “just one more chapter.”
Sometimes when I look back on my summers, the first things that come to mind are the books I found myself engrossed in, and it is through those reads that I remember what events where happening in my life at that time. I can’t wait to see what books will fill my days as this summer unwinds, along with the events and people that will make this summer extra sunny :)
One consistency that comes with reading is that for some period of time I can take myself out of my own skin and into a new world that waits to enthrall me in different sorts of ways, that when I come back into this world I am changed in a sense that is refreshing and moving everytime.
Three cheers for the creative minds that put words together so eloquently on paper and call them “books.”

The kitchen of Mama Christensen is a happy place to be. Cheers to Nathaniel, a classy fellow :) There is much to celebrate this weekend!
This is a movie that I recommend all able eyes to view. I am a sucker for all Irish films, but this one may take the gold. Who can resist adorable accents from the mouths of children, baby seals, and lovely cottage living on a rolling green hillside? Well, not this girl. Check it out, chums!
